Q.: Is there a user manual available for GPSXC?
A.: Yes, a user manual is available here
Q.: Is my Bluetooth GPS receiver model XXX compatible with GPSXC?
A.: GPSXC is compatible with any NMEA 0183 v2.3 compatible GPS receiver, providing
the following NMEA sentences for a full featured usage: RMC, GGA, GSA, GSV.
Please note that RMC sentences must provide fix date and time information. Altitude information is also needed for a full featured usage, altough not mandatory.
Q.: I'm trying to load a map in GPSXC but it says that it has not enough memory, although my map "map.jpg" is just 300KB and my MMC card has a lot of free space!
A.: Currently, the whole map needs to be loaded in memory. The full uncompressed map image size must be considered here. For example, a 1024x768 image requires 1024x768 = 768KB of free memory.
Furthermore, the term "memory" refers to the phone's RAM, which is not the internal memory where applications are installed, nor the MMC card.
The forthcoming next release will manage maps withouth the need to load the whole image at once, supporting maps bigger than 100MB.
Q.: Should I install GPSXC on the phone's memory or on the MMC card?
A.: It is usually better to install GPSXC on the MMC, in order to have more space for tracks, wyapoints, maps, etc.
Q.: How do I export tracks, waypoints and routes to and from OziExplorer or other programs?
A.: You can import and export tracks, waypoints and routes in OziExplorer formats (PLT, WPT and RTE) using the related menu choices in GPSXC.
Use programs like Nokia PC Suite to transfer files between your phone and a PC. Please refer to the GPSXC user manual for more information.
Q.: How do I transfer tracks, waypoints and routes to and from OziExplorer emulating a Garmin device over an Infrared connection?

Please note that the same procedure applies to Bluetooth communications too.
Q.: Do I have to pay for upgrades to GPSXC?
A.: Upgrades are free of charge up to the next major version. For example, if you bought version 1.2, you will receive free upgrades up to 1.9.9 (and maybe above :-) ).
Q.: I bought version 1.x how do I get the lastest version?
A.: Customers receive upgrades by email as soon as a new version is available.
If you didn't receive it or if you lost the email,
please write to info(at)gpsxc.com providing your phone's IMEI number.
Q.: Are there plans to release a version of GPSXC in Italian / German / French / Spanish?
A.: Yes, there are plans to release localized versions very soon.
Q.: Do you plan to support other Symbian OS devices?
A.: Yes, a version of GPSXC for UIQ, Nokia Series 80 and Nokia 7710 is planned to be released very soon.
